One important aim during implementation of the Virtual Forest is the abolition of classic separation between the proceedings of biological and technological production. With new methods of the Virtual Forest the varied processes about biological and technical production should rather be more integrated into each other, a mutual use of data should be established and with it a topical data base should always be in attendance on every person involved. With it, people involved in the project promise themselves, in addition to new options of use, considerable synergy effects and rationalization potentials.
